Ingredients

  • Potato: 4nos boiled
  • Cheese: a bowl
  • Chili flakes: 1tsp
  • Oregano: 1tsp
  • Salt: as per taste
  • Corn flour: 4tbs
  • Breadcrumbs: 4tbs
  • Black pepper powder: a little
  • Maida: 4tbs
  • Oil for frying
  • Chaat masala: for garnish

Method:

Step 1: Grating the potatoes

At first with the help of grater, grate the boiled potatoes and keep on a plate.

Step 2: Mixing the ingredients

Now in a medium bowl take the grated potatoes, add ½ tbs salt as per taste, ½ tbs black pepper powder, oregano and 4tbs bread crumbs and cheese. Mix all the ingredients well.

Now when the ingredients are mixed nicely gradually add corn flour and mix again. Now add maida and mix again nicely. We have step by step added the corn flour and maida so that everything mixes well nicely. The mixture will look sticky but this only will make the cutlets nice and crispy.

Step 3: Making the cutlets

At first with a brush grease a plate with a little oil so that cutlets won’t stick. Sprinkle little breadcrumbs on the plate so the cutlets bottom will have breadcrumbs crunch as well.

Now rub a little oil on the palms of your hand and make spiral cutlets. Take a small portion of the mixture and roll in a long shape and then make spiral cutlets out of it.

Now sprinkle a little chili flakes and oregano on top of the cutlets and little more breadcrumbs so that they are crispier.

Step 4: Frying the cutlets

In a pan pour oil and heat up for frying. Check once by putting a little mixture that the oil is warm enough or not.

Now put the cutlets in the oil and fry on medium flame and turn the other side and fry till golden brown. When done take out and place on tissue paper so excess oil drains out.

Step 5: Serve up

Plate it up and sprinkle a little chaat masala as well. Serve well with onions and sauce or dipping of your choice and enjoy.

Enjoy the spiral potato cutlets!

Notes:

  1. The mixture needs to be mixed nicely by gradually adding corn flour and maida. The mixture is supposed to be sticky so don’t worry cutlets will turn out crispy and nice.
  2. Cutlets needs to be shaped in spirals so roll the mixture and then shape on palms of your hands. It is easy to shape them just follow the steps.
  3. Fry on medium heat till golden brown by turning sides.
