Mirch ke pakode is a great street food served around the nooks and corner of India. Everyone who has great appetite and taste bud for some yummy and hot flavored food then this Mirch ke pakode is the absolute delicacy.  It is also known at some places to be Rajasthani Mirch ke pakode but to the irony kashmiri green chilies are particularly used to make this pakodas. It is prepared with filling up great tasting potato stuffing in then chilies and coated with yummy Besan batter. Particularly when it’s rainy season the taste and need to have great pakoras double up. Making yummy mirchi ke pakora is not very difficult but rather easy and very tempting. Making this for your families will definitely win their hearts. At some places it is often termed as mirchi bajji or mirchi vada and making this yummy mirchi vada is very soul satisfying when clubbed with yummy green chutneys. So here is very easy mirchi vada recipe with steo by step process. So let’s begin.

Yummy and spicy: Mirch Ke Pakode!

Ingredients

  • Kashmiri Green chilies: as much you want Washed and seeds scooped out
  • Gram flour: 1bowl
  • Potatoes: 3nos boiled
  • Fresh coriander: a little
  • Red chili powder: 1tbs
  • Turmeric powder: 1tbs
  • Roasted cumin seeds: 1tbs
  • Salt: 1tbs
  • Chaat masala: 1tbs
  • Dry mango powder amchur: ½ tubes
  • Oil for frying

Method:

Step 1: Making the batter for coating

In a medium bowl take out gram flour (besan) and add ½ tbs of salt, ½ tbs red chili powder, ½ tbs turmeric powder and make a fine batter by gradually adding water to it. Never add water at once. Keep the batter aside.

Step 2: Prepping the chilies

Wash the chilies properly and make an incision in between and take out all the seeds. And keep aside.

Step 3: Making the potato mixture

In a medium bowl take the boiled potatoes and mash it up. Add ½ tbs salt, ½ tbs red chili powder, 1tbs Chaat masala, ½ tbs Amchur powder, a little fresh coriander and add cumin seeds by lightly crushing it between the palms of your hands. Mix everything well to form a nice mixture. Now it’s ready to be stuffed inside the chilies.

Step 4: Stuffing the chilies

Now, with the help of a spoon fill potato mixture in the chilies and be careful to remove excess mixture from it.

Step 5: Frying the pakodas

In a kadhai heat up oil for frying. Now dip the mixture filled chilies into the gram flour batter and place it in the kadhai and deep fry till golden brown by lightly stirring it.

Now, serve hot with sauce and chutneys of your choice and enjoy.

Notes:

  1. Use the chilies particularly used for making aanchars.
  2. The gram flour batter should be not too thick neither runny.
  3. Carefully place the stuffed chilies in the oil and fry with light hands till golden brown.
